A Fore Fun favorite for groups of four with relatively equal skill levels.
This game is featured on Fore Fun’s 2014 Card that are distributed at golf courses around the country…does your course have Fore Fun Cards? If not, shoot us an email to inquire about them. (Hint: They are free).
How To Play
Two player teams of equal skill are paired. Play out each hole as you normally would trying to shoot the lowest score possible. Scores of each team are not combined; rather, they are paired.
If players on Team A score a 3 and a 4, the Team’s score is 34, not 7. The lower number goes first unless a player scores a 10 or higher (consider capping an individual score at 9).
How To Score
If you are the winning Team on a hole, take your team’s score and minus the other Team’s score. This is the amount of points you win on this hole. One team will always get zero points. Throughout the round, you can continue to add or subtract each hole to keep a running total.
How To Win
The team with the most cumulative points at the end of the round wins! Points can have a predetermined value (e.g. $0.25 ), or you could all wager something to throw into the ‘pot’ in which the team with the most points just wins the ‘pot’ (e.g. cold post round beverage or $5).
FYI: Points can add up quickly so be careful what you wager if points are all worth a certain amount. Unless you have some deep pockets we recommend not playing for anything more than a $0.25 a point. For example, on a hole if your team scores a 76 compared to your opponents 45, that would be $7.75 on just one hole if playing $0.25 a point.
- Team A scores 3 and 4 for a 34; Team B scores 4 and 5 for a 45. The difference is 11 points, so Team A is ahead by 11 points.
- Team A scores a 6 and a 5 for a 56; Team B scores a 4 and a 4 for a 44. Team B wins the hole by 12 points.
If you were keeping a running total, Team B would be up 1 point after two holes (12-11 = 1).
