This game is very similar to ALTERNATE SHOT. The difference is both players tee off on each hole, and the better of the 2 drives is selected.
How To Play
Two player teams of equal skill are paired. All players tee off. Each team decides which drive they like the best and alternate shots from this spot until the ball is holed. If your drive was not selected, you must hit the second shot.
How To Score
You can use either a stroke or match play scoring format.
How To Win
At the end of the round, the team with the most cumulative holes won (Match Play) or least amount of total strokes (Stroke Play) will win!
Points can have a predetermined value (e.g. $1 or 1 golf ball), or you could all wager something to throw into the “pot” in which the winning team would win (e.g. $10 item from the pro shop).
Pearsons & Baker VS Joe & Tony
Pearsons & Baker tee off. Pearson has the best drive, so they choose to play from Pearson’s ball. Because it was Pearson’s drive, Baker hits the second shot and puts it onto the green. Pearsons putts it to within two feet and then Baker knocks down the putt. The team score for this hole would be 4.
Joe & Tony tee off. Joe has the best drive, so they choose to play from Joe’s ball. Because it was Joe’s drive, Tony hits the second shot and puts it into the green side bunker. Joe shoots it onto the green. Tony putts it to six feet. Joe misses the putt by a foot. Tony taps it in. The team score for this hole would be a 6.
After Hole 1, Pearsons & Baker would be up 1 hole (Match Play) or 2 strokes (Stroke Play). This format continues for the rest of the round.
