How To Play

A side bet called a Murphy can be invoked by a golfer who is chipping or approaching to the green.  The golfer declaring “Murphy” is betting he can get up and down.

Before the round, the group should decide if the issuing of a Murphy means it is automatically accepted by the other players in the group.  Or each player could have the opportunity to accept or decline the ‘murphy’.  Also make sure to agree on the area from which a golfer can declare a Murphy.

Murphys can never be declared from the green, and often times balls on the fringe are ruled out too.

How To Score

The bet amount can be decided before the round for all Murphies, or the group can decide on the amount for each Murphy (2:1 odds perhaps?).
