An addition to a scramble format that forces the team to use a certain player’s drive on each hole. A great way to force everyone on the team to contribute multiple times.
How To Play
In a normal scramble format instead of choosing between four different drives to play from, each hole has a ‘designated driver’ that tees off and the team must use their drive. From the drive, the normal scramble format is used until the ball is holed.
How To Score
The team score is based on how many shots it takes the group to get the ball in the hole. At each spot where the group members hit, only 1 shot is counted. You keep track of the score like a normal stroke play tournament.
How To Win
The Team with the lowest score after the round wins! Usually a winning score at a tournament will be around 10 under par.
Players A is the ‘designated driver’ so they tee off. The team (players A, B, C, D) goes to this ball and everyone plays a shot. It is decided that Player C has the best shot. Players A, B and D go and pick up their ball and bring it back to the location of Player C’s ball. All four players hit again (from same spot). It is decided that Player A has the best shot. Player A, B, C and D all putt and Player D sinks his putt. The team gets a score of a 4.
If you have to much to drink on the course, we also recommend getting a ‘designated driver’ in the golf cart and back home.
