Rating:

A 2 on 2 game that combines the rules and scoring of Alternate Shot and Scotch Foursomes into one.

How To Play

Two player teams of equal skill are paired.  All players tee off.  After the tee shots, teammates switch balls with their teammate for the 2nd shot.  After the second shot, teammates choose to play one of the two balls.  From this spot the teammates play alternative shot until the ball is holed.

How To Score

Each team will have one score on each hole.   You can use either a stroke or match play scoring format.

How To Win

At the end of the round, the team with the most cumulative holes won (Match Play) or least amount of total strokes (Stroke Play) will win!

If playing in a tournament it’s probably best for every player to put a certain amount into the pot (e.g. $5).  If you are playing in a foursome against the other two person team, then points can have a predetermined value (e.g. $1), or you could all wager something to throw into the “pot” in which the winning team would win (e.g. a post round hot dog).

EXAMPLE:  Grover & Danielle are on a team.

They both tee off.  Grover goes to Danielle’s first shot and hits.  Danielle goes to Grover’s first shot and hits.  Grover & Danielle decide to use Grover’s second shot and they decide to let Danielle shoot first in alternative shot.  Danielle hits it to within 2 feet and then Grover taps it in the hole.  The Grover & Danielle team would record a 4 on the hole.
